Human Beings are often proud of themselves. We believe ourselves to be the most creative creatures. But we also tend to forget that we are often reluctant to step out of our comfort zone. Majority of us have a tendency to avoid change, either personal or professional and this makes it more difficult to adapt with the change. Also, we need to understand, failure- big or small is part and parcel of the change in the short run but it can also lead to immense success and growth, thereafter.
Well, the question here is how can we bring the required change in the organization? The answer or key to the question is organizational alignment. Well defined, specific goal, clear responsibilities and accountability is the base and plays a crucial role in incorporating the organizational change. We have the below pointers for leading the change:
Clarity of organizational goals: The base to lead organizational change should be to have clarity of organizational goals. Organizational goals act as the foundation to the development of the company, considering which the roadmap to accomplish it is formed. These goals should be communicated to the employees. Clear definition of objectives is very important for the growth and development of the organization as well as the employees.
Shared Responsibility: Merely identifying the goals does not end the process of organizational alignment. The next step is sharing the organizational responsibilities. Proper delegation of responsibilities should be done to avoid confusion. Clarity in roles and responsibility also helps to increase the productivity. Thus to bring change, there should be precision, co-ordination, transparency among the employees and within the organization.
Clarity of Accountability: Responsibility and Accountability are interlinked. One does not stand independent of the other as responsibility comes with accountability and accountability comes with responsibility. Although it exerts pressure, being accountable increases the productivity, improves the quality and improves the efficiency. Only thing to be considered is that accountability should not lead to undue pressure and stress but should lead to development of oneself. Eventually, it will lead to organizational change and alignment in the long run with the co-operation of all.
Organizational Change is not just a word but has become the most important part of organizations which needs to be attained- whether the change be in technical aspect, financial aspect or any other aspect of the organization.
