Go Green

December 23, 2015by Faber Infinite1

Going green is an approach to help the earth and society while sustaining the business. In the earlier post, we talked about types of green waste, which can be avoided and improved to facilitate better processes and cost benefits as well. Faber Infinite has been working with businesses to be more sustainable by going green and targeting bottom line improvements.

Further, as put across by Hon. Prime Minister of India Mr. Narendra Modi, ‘Zero Defect Zero Effect’ signifies production mechanisms wherein products have no defect and the processes through which product is made has zero adverse environmental and ecological effect.

If the defects are zero, the investment in terms of material, manpower will be less, so the bottom line can be affected and the profitability is increased with savings.

One of the types of seven green wastes is energy and energy conservation is also on key radar not only for private organizations but for nations! Energy conservation refers to reducing energy consumption through using less of energy services, for example driving less is energy conservation, but driving the same amount with higher mileage vehicle is an example of energy efficiency. Energy conservation and efficiency both are energy reduction techniques. Even though energy conservation reduces energy services, it can result in increased environmental quality, national security, personal financial security and higher savings.

Institutes like Petroleum Conservation Research Association are engaged in promoting energy efficiency and conservation in every walk of life. Organizations that are direct consumers of energy may want to conserve energy in order to reduce energy costs and promote economic and environmental sustainability. Industrial users may want to increase efficiency and thus maximize the profit.

Energy conservation is important to prevent climate change and makes it easier to replace non renewable resources with renewable energy. It is applicable for developed as well as developing economies.

Lately, African economy of Zambia has been facing sever power crisis. Zambia, also being exporter of electricity in the past, has faced tough times due to several reasons and unable to meet demands of growing population and their internal needs. All of Zambia’s electricity could force grid operators to cut power supplies by 30% to country’s copper mines, the key stone of it’s economy.

In future, energy conservation and efficiencies are the only ways for sustainable growth and development.
